about
this site is more than a normal collection of wallpapers - the focus is on
high-resolution and multihead wallpapers and information about multihead
configurations (especially with GNU/Linux and X11/XFree86/x.org). a list of
(linux supported) multihead cards and their features is under construction.
the wallpapers were found on various places around the net or modified/made
by me.
aspect ratios are mostly for multiple 4:3 displays, some are for
multiple 5:4. the singlehead wallpaper are for high-resolution (>=1600x1200)
4:3 and widescreen 16:10 displays. you can "abuse" the triplehead wallpapers
for dualhead widescreen displays.
here
you can see a matrix comparing different aspect ratios and screen setups.
you found a piece of your own work and want credits or have it removed? want
to tell me about a good multihead / high- resolution image resource or
contribute with some wallpaper? Got detailed information about a multihead
graphics card?
tell me.
there is also a
beta for a new menu
- the "wallpaper selection helper".
at the moment the wallpapers have a total size of
251MB (798KB/image average).

multihead display solutions
· digitaltigers
tigervista (2-7 screens, multi-monitor notebook docking station, pc's
with multihead cards)
·
9X Media (2-32 screen
display, 2-144 screen video walls, multi-screen computers & gfx cards)
·
MASS Engineered
Design (1-6 screens, fully rotational panels)
·
Panoram Technologies (3 screens, large visualization systems)
·
Liebermann (1-5 screens,
seems to be bankrupt)
· e.g. Apple, SGI and SUN provide workstations with at least dualhead graphics
options.
multihead gfx cards
· 9X Media has a nice
list of dual- to quadhead cards.
· the Matrox Parhelia is nice for triplehead surround gaming where supported,
but the 3D performance is quite weak. Nvidia supports at least dualhead
gaming with some games and a better performance. nevertheless matrox cards
have a great image quality.
i don't wanna miss my Matrox MMS-cards :)
more information coming soon...
single displays
· at least Iiyama, Viewsonic and IBM have some ultrahigh-resolution displays
(3840x2400).
· Apple, Samsung and maybe some more have good widescreen (16:10) displays.
